Solarflare Wins CBOE
Irvine-based Solarflare, the developer of high speed, accelerated network adapters, announced Tuesday that the firm's technology has just been selected by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). The firm said its 10GbE adapters, along with products from Arista Networks, are being used for a high frequency, trading platform at the CBOE. Financial details of the win were not disclosed by the firms. Solarflare's adapters provide better bandwidth and response time for financial customers, and are that the firm has been focusing on since selling off its PHY business in May. The firm has been focused on moving its adapters within the financial community, which is very concerned about network performance and speed. Solarflare is run by Russell Stern.
