Slingshot Aerospace Wins $25.2M From U.S. Space Force
El Segundo- and Austin-based Slingshot Aerospace has scored a $25.2M contract from the U.S. Space Force, the company said this week, to develop a new space training product called Digital Space Twin. According to the company, it will develop a government version of the product for space wargaming and other missions gritical to national security. The company said the funding came from the Space Systems Command and SpaceWERX, the recently established venture arm of the Space Force, as part of its Strategic Financing (STRATFI) program. Digital Space Twin provides a virtual, real time mapping of objects in orbit, and a model of space weather, along with physics-based simulations to show how missions will behave in a real space environment.
