SimpleTech Acquires Gnutek
Santa Ana-based SimpleTech said this morning that it has acquired Gnutek, a maker of NAND-based solid state flash drives. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. UK-based Gnutek develops solid state drives used by companies enterprises for very fast storage of data. SimpleTech said that the acquisition would allow it to address the enterprise storage market's need for Flash-based drive solutions. The acquisition puts SimpleTech in competition with companies like Texas Memory Systems, Silicon Systems, BitMicro, and Solid Data Systems.
