ScoreBig.com Gets $10M Investment
Los Angeles-based online ticket marketplace ScoreBig.com said today that it has raised $10M in a new funding round, and hired a new Chief Strategy Officer. ScoreBig.com said the new funding round came from Checketts Partners Investment Fund (CPIF), and is the first close of a Series C round of funding. CPIF adds a board member as part of the investment. In addition to the new funding, ScoreBig.com also said it has added David Goldberg as Chief Strategy Officer. Goldberg was formerly an EVP at Ticketmaster, and was also CEO of Youbet.com, and co-founded Tunes.com and Sportvision.
ScoreBig.com is led by Adam Kanner, and offers up an online marketplace for live entertainment tickets. The marketplace includes live sports, concert and theater events, and helps venues, sports teams, and others help move unsold tickets, while providing steep discounts for consumers via a reverse auction system. The site's current offers in Los Angeles include Dodgers, Angels, LA Kings, USC Trojans, and other discounted sports tickets, in addition to concerts and theater events. Kanner is a veteran of the sports market. ScoreBig.com's other investors include Bain Capital Ventures and U.S. Venture Partners.
