SCE Plans New Electric Vehicle Push
Southern California Edison said on Monday that it is expanding its efforts to expand electric vehicle transportation in its service area, and has filed a plan to promote electric vehicles with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). According to SCE, the filing includes more than $570M in programs and infrastructure to help grow transportation electrification, including expansion of SCE's Charge Ready program, which installedd electrical infrastructure for charging stations, and rebates towards purchases of electric charging stations, including for EV charging stations in parking lots for passenger vehicles, plus stations for plug-in trucks, electric buses, cargo-handling port equipment and forklifts. SCE said the effort specifically would help reduce greenhouse gases and move California closer to its 2030 climate change goal of 40 percent below 1990 levels.
