San Diego Ranks in Global Knowledge Economy
A UK-based research firm has released its annual competitive index of global knowledge regions, and has ranked San Diego as fifth in its list of 125 regions. San Francisco ranked first, and the first non-US entry on the list is Stockholm at No. 15. Robert Huggins Associates ranks regions by the number of patent registrations, R&D, education spending, IT and communications infrastructure, as well as access to private equity and other factors.
