Russian Military Blamed For Viasat Hack
The hacking of local satellite constellation operator Viasat has been blamed on Russia's military intelligence agency, GRU, according to U.S. officials. According to a report from the Washington Post, the outages on Carlsbad, California-based Viasat's satellites began on February 24th, the day Russia invaded Ukraine. Apparently, the hack targeted Viasat's satellite terminals, which are used to connect ground stations to Viasat's satellites overhead; the hacking not only impacted Ukraine's military, but also many other organizations in Europe.
