Report: Call Of Duty Franchises Priced At $25M Per Team
Santa Monica-based Activision Blizzard is looking to create a new, city-based Call of Duty e-sports league, and has started looking for franchisees willing to pay $25 million to set up a team in their own city, according to a report on Wednesday. The report, from ESPN, says Activision Blizzard has been meeting with prospective buyers for the league. Activision Blizzard already runs a similar, franchised league for its popular Overwatch title; ESPN says that league already has 12 different teams, with the cost there costing $20M per franchise.
