Red Mango Scoops Up $12M
Los Angeles-based Red Mango, a frozen yogurt franchise, said today that the firm has raised $12M in a Series A investment. The round was led by John Antioco, former chairman and CEO of Blockbuster, along with private equity firm CIC Partners. Red Mango said the funding will go towards further development of its brands, and for bolstering its management team. John Antioco will become chairman of the firm's board of directors with the investment. Antioco has served as chairman and CEO of Blockbuster, Taco Bell, and Circle K,and also served as SVP Operations at 7-Eleven. Jean Birch, former president of Macaroni Grill and Corner Bakery Cafe, becomes Chief Operating Officer of the firm; finally, Jim Notarnicola, former Chief Marketing Officer at Blockbuster and 7-Eleven, has become Chief Marketing Officer at Red Mango.
