Red 6 Aerospace Lands $2.5M For AR Technology
Los Angeles-based Red 6 Aerospace, a startup developing Augmented Reality software aimed at used in what it says are "high-speed, dynamic environments", has raised $2.35M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Moonshots Capital, and also included Irongate Capital Advisors, as well as angel investors. The company was founded by a veteran of the Royal Air Force, Daniel Robinson, a former fighter pilot for the RAF. According to Red 6 Aerospace, it is looking to use augmented reality technology for "synthetic training" of warfighters, which it says will transform how the military trains. According to Red 6 Aerospace, Robinson was the first, non-American in the world to fly the F-22 Raptor for the United States Air Force. As a result of the funding round, Kelly Perdew, co-founder and Managing General Partner at Moonshots Capital, has joined the company's board of directors. Moonshots Capital has made a name for itself by often making investments in companies run by former military veterans.
