Santa Ana-based Powerwave Technologies, a manufacturer of wireless infrastructure hardware, said Wednesday that it has opened up a new manufacturing facility in Thailand. The firm said the new, 135,000-square foot operation is expected to initially employ 300 people, with expansion to 500 employees by the end of 2010. The facility is located in Laem Chabang in Chonburi Province, Thailand. Powerwave said the factory will manufacturer the firm's amplifiers, power distribution units and repeaters, and remote radio heads, along with supporting repair activities in Asia.
