Pokki Updates Desktop App Software
Pokki, the desktop app software developed by San Diego-based Sweetlabs, the startup headed by former DivX exec Darrius Thompson, is launching a big update to the software today, saying that it now has over 1 million monthly active users of the software. The release launches the company out of beta. Updates to the software include a new notification center, ways to better manage and organize apps, as well as ways to discover new apps which run in the Pokki environment. Pokki is hoping to bring the app experience which people have become so used to on smartphones to Windows PCs, saying that the "PC is desperately in need of a makeover."
