Peregrine Semiconductor Acquired By Murata For $471M
San Diego-based Peregrine Semiconductor, the developer of radio frequency semiconductors, is being acquired by Japanese electronics firm Murata, in a deal worth $471M in cash. According to Murata, it is paying $12.50 per share in cash for Peregrine Semiconductor, in a deal which will bolster its RF systems and business. Peregrine Semiconductor develops RF front end products for the mobile and analog market. Murata said that Peregrine becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Peregrine was advised by Deutsche Bank and Evercore, as well as Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP in the deal; Murata was advised by Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
