Parchment Finds $6M
Parchment, the startup which operates Docufide, a service to help transfer high school transcripts to colleges and universities, said Monday that it has raised $6M in funding. Parchment--which started in Los Angeles, and continues to have offices here--said the funding was led by Salmon River Capital, and also included Novak Biddle Partners and Blackboard CEO and President Michael Chasen. Parchment was formerly known as Docufide, but recently changed its name and relocated its corporate headquarters to Scottsdale, Arizona--part of the hiring of former Blackboard founder Michael Pittinsky as its new CEO. Docufide had previously raised funding from local, Los Angeles angel investors, including the Pasadena Angels and Tech Coast Angels; it's unclear if those angels were involved in this latest round, or still have stakes in Parchment.
