Overwatch League Signs On HP, Intel For Sponsorships
The Overwatch League, the new e-sports league based on Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment's popular gaming title, Overwatch, said today that it has announced its first sponsorship deals for the league, with HP and Intel. Financials behind the two sponsorship deals were not announced, however, the Overwatch League said the two have both signed on for multi-year sponsorships of the league. In addition, Intel will sponsor future Overwatch competitive events, in addition to the league itself. As part of the overall sponsorship, players in the events will be running on gaming hardware from both HP and Intel including HP's OMEN gaming PCs, running the Intel Core i7 processor line. The Overwatch League begins its first season on January 10th of next year, with games until June and finals in July; all of the games next year will be from a new venue, "Blizzard Arena Los Angeles", a new venue being renovated now in Burbank specifically for Blizzard's e-sports events.
