On Ramp Wireless Raising $30M
San Diego-based On Ramp Wireless, a developer of networking and communications equipment aimed at smart grid and other sensors networks, is in the process of raising up to $30M in funding, according to a regulatory filing from the firm Thursday. The filing says that the company has so far raised $10M in the round, which kicked off on June 11th. Names of the investors in the new round have not yet been announced. On Ramp Wireless develops equipment which receives low power wireless signals from sensor networks--typically used in smart grid applications--and transmits those to communications networks.
