Novatel Wireless Deploys In Puerto Rico
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, the manufacturer of wireless modems and broadband wireless data cards and products, said this morning that it has launched two of its products with a Puerto Rico carrier. The firm said it has launched its 4G LTE MiFi 4510 hotspot and Ovation MC 551 USB modem on the network of Open Mobile, a telecommunications company serving Puerto Rico. Shipment volumes and financial impact of the win were not disclosed. Open Mobile is a provider of prepaid wireless services in Puerto Rico. Novatel's devices are used to connect PCs and other devices to wireless networks; the firm's MiFi is known for making it easy to create a mini-WiFi hotspot out of a cell phone connection.
