New Startup Incubator Launches At Loyola Marymount

There's a new, startup incubator in town in West Los Angeles--this time, launching out of Loyola Marymount University and its College of Business. According to the school, it has launched the The LMU CBA Business Incubator, a brand new startup incubator focused on companies in the technology and consumer products area. The incubator--which is being managed by Dr. David Y. Choi--is launching with nine student and alumni companies, and provides space, advisors and mentors, and connections to startups.

According to Choi, the incubator--known as "Inc-U" on the campus--currently includes startups NabThat (car purchasing), Piglt (crowdfunding); Revita-Ink (skin cream for tattoos); and Bosse Tools (ergonomically designed tools).

Choi explained that the incubator is primarily for students and alumni, but it is very open to innovative businesses interested in working with its students. "The idea behind the incubator is to better prepare our students and student companies for the real world," Choi told us, mentioning that the incubator should also help students develop many of the ideas they generated in the school's new venture creation classes.
