Myspace Launches New Music Player

Beverly Hills-based Myspace, the online entertainment site now owned by Specific Media, said this morning that it has released a new music player. The site said its new Myspace Music Player will provide free, unlimited on-demand listening, personalized radio, search, as well as sharing features on both Myspace and Facebook. Myspace said it has inked licensing deals with Sony, Universal, EMI, and Warner, along with 20,000 independent labels, to power the music service. The site claimed that it has a library that is three times the size of other online catalogs, clocking in at 42 million songs. Myspace said the player is the "biggest development" at the firm since its acquisition by Specific Media earlier this year. Specific Media has been working on revamping Myspace since its acquisition in June.
