Morpho Ships WiMAX Solution, Gets New Funding
Irvine-based Morpho Technologies, a developer of digital signal processors (DSP) for the wireless market, has rolled out a new, integrated WiMAX system aimed at the mobile device marketplace. The firm said that the new system, which it is licensing to semiconductor companies, can help provide WiMAX connectivity for designers. The new system integrates Morpho's hardware and software to enable WiMax capability in handsets, notebook PCs, and audio, video, and gaming devices. Morpho said that the design will be available in July. The firm also said that it received a new round of funding as part of its new product introducation, from all of its current major investors. Morpho is backed by BridgeWest, Smart Technology Ventures, along with Cadence Design Systems, Freescale, and Motorola. More information »
