Model Medicines Takes $4.1M
San Diego-based Model Medicines, a company that is developing artificial intelligence and machine learning software for the drug discovery and development process, has raised $4.1M in a funding round. The funding came from 8VC, Irving Investors, Particle X and Nex Cubed. According to the company, it will use the funding to develop its therapeutic pipeline. The company said its lead compound is a once-daily, oral, infectious disease therapeutic discovered using its AI platform, which it developed in collaboration with Scripps Research and Mount Sinai.
