Microsemi Connects To Amazon Alexa
Aliso Viejo-based semiconductor developer Microsemi has connected its hardware to Amazon's Alexa voice recognition service, with a new product, the company announced this morning. Microsemi said its new AcuEdge Development Kit for Amazon Alexa Voice Service (AVS), helps third-party developers and original design manufacturers (ODMs) evaluate and incorporate Alexa into human-to-machine applications. The new product is aimed at bringing Amazon Alexa to the Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and automated assistance markets, according to Microsemi. The new kit contains both a Raspberry Pi loaded with AVS, and Microsemi's Timberwolf, a field programmable, field upgradable digital signal processor which specifically implements acoustic echo canceling algorithms to enable voice control and speech recognition. The new kit retails for $299.
