MemComputing Selected By Chevron Technology Ventures
San Diego-based MemComputing, a startup developing high performance computing (HPC) technology, has been selected by Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV), for CTV's Catalyst Program, which supports early stage companies focused on the oil and gas industry. MemComputing did not say if the selection for participation included an investment from CTV. According to MemComputing, its technology has shown the ability to reduce compute times from hours to seconds for challenging computational problems. The two said that MemComputing will join CTV's Catalyst Program to explore the applicability of its HPC technology to the oil and gas industry. MemComputing is led by CEO and co-founder John Beane. The company's technology was originally invented at the University of California, San Diego, at the labs of Dr. Massimiliano Di Ventra and Dr. Fabio Traversa at UCSD; Beane is a former Entrepreneur-in-Residence at UCSD.
