MaxLinear Countersues Silicon Laboratories
Carlsbad-based MaxLinear said Tuesday morning that it has filed counterclaims against competitor Silicon Laboratories. The filing comes in response to a lawsuit filed a few weeks ago by Silicon Laboratories against the firm. MaxLinear said that it believes that a "wide range" of Silicon Laboratories product infringe on its intellectual property. MaxLinear said Silicon Labs' products are covered by three patents its holds: United States Patent Nos. 7,362,178; 8,198,940; and 7,778,613. MaxLinear is a developer of radio frequency and mixed signal semiconductors. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of California, San Diego Division, the same court Silicon Laboratories' own lawsuit against MaxLinear was filed in July.
