Maverick Angels Founder John Dilts Dies
John Dilts, founder of angel group the Maverick Angels and co-founder of the BioTech Forum, a group promoting biotechnology industry development in Ventura County, has died. No details of Dilts' death was given, however, the Maverick Angels said that Dilts passed away on the morning of August 2nd. The group said that Dilts viewing is Thursday.
Dilts founded Maverick Angels in 2006, after running the Los Angeles and Westlake Village chapters of angel group Keiretsu Forum. Dilts had recently been extending his efforts to expand Maverick beyond the Southern California area, having recently opened up Italy and Utah chapters of the group. Dilts also was one of the major forces behind the BioTech Forum, which was attempting to leverage Ventura County's strength in the biotech field, and in particular, the talent latent in biotech giant Amgen, to spur new startups and biotech funding.
