Language Weaver Boosts Commercial Efforts
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver, which develops automated language translation software, is boosting its commercial efforts, saying today that it increased its commercial revenues by over 70 percent last year. The firm--which did not provide any financial details on the revenues or change--said it signed up over 25 new sites in both the commercial and government sector last year. Language Weaver's language translation software is based on research spun out of the University of Southern California. Language Weaver has been attempting to expand beyond its traditional government agency customers into the commercial market, through efforts to sign up users of translation software, human translation firms, web content, customer care, and other applications of its technology. The firm is now billing itself, cryptically, as a "human communications solutions provider."
