Laffster Lands $750K
Venice, California-based comedy startup Laffster said this morning that it has raised $750,000 in a funding round, which came from Greylock Partners, Howard Lindzon, Adam Nash (LinkedIn), Chris Williams (Maker Studios), Samer Hamadeh (Vault.com), Christopher Grey (CapLinked), Sonny Singh (Jumio), and The Paradigm Agency, along with others. The company--one of the startups out of Santa Monica's MuckerLab--helps users find funny videos, articles, and more. In addition to the funding, the firm said it has launched a new iPhone app called "Mock the Vote", which delivers humorous, up-to-the-minute political news. Laffster is headed by Dan Altmann, who previously was involved with IAC and its CollegeHumor site. More information »
