Kingston Digital Adds Smaller, Encrypted USB Drives

Bigger is not better--apparently--when it comes to encrypted, USB flash drives. Fountain Valley-based Kingston Digital, the flash memory arm of Kingston, said this week that it has rolled out new, smaller encrypted USB drives--specifically aimed at helping companies limit the amount of data which can be transported outside of a company's network. The company--which already offers up 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models of its encrypted flash memory--said it specifically added lower 4GB and 8GB capacities of its DataTraveler 2000 encrypted USB flash drives, to limit the amount of data which can be copied off of enterprise networks. The company said that more difficult for large amounts of sensitive data to be transferred to unauthorized parties in the event the drive gets lost or falls into the wrong hands.
