KidZui Rolls Free Version
San Diego-based KidZui, the venture backed startup which develops a kid-friendly browser targeted at families, said today that it has rolled out a new, free version of the firm's software. KidZui said that it will offer a free version of its kid-friendly browser, in addition to offering a premium membership. KidZui's browser limits access by kids to only websites reviewed by parents and teachers. KidZui said the company's premium membership will offer "fun extras" for kids, including ability to tag and personalize the browser, and access a broader array of backgrounds and themes, as well as email reporting for parents and online activity reports. KidZui is venture backed by Maveron, Emergence Capital Partners and First Round Capital. The firm said that premium membership will be $4.95 per month or $49.95 per year--the same price the company was offering its full browser when it launched in February.
