Juice Wireless Scores $2.3M From Qualcomm, 21Ventures
Los Angeles-based Juice Wireless has raised $2.3M in a strategic round, the firm told socalTECH Tuesday, pulling in new investor Qualcomm along with existing investor 21 Ventures. Nick Desai, Chairman of Juice Wireless, said in an interview Tuesday that the funding will go towards its strategy of focusing on carrier-based distribution, as it comes close to securing some carrier deals. Desai also said that the funding will allow it to execute on carrier launches, and move it closer to being break even and profitable. The firm has now raised approximately $9M in funding. Juice Wireless is the developer of JuiceCaster, a picture and video blogging application for wireless phones, which allows anyone to upload cell phone photos and videos to Myspace, Xanga, and other social networking web sites and blog platforms.
