Jiggerbug Adds Audio Book Download Service
West Hollywood-based Jiggerbug said this week that it has added downloaded audio books to its offerings. The company, which provides audio book rental in a subscription form similar to Netflix, said that the new service will allow subscribers to download their favorite audio books in digital format. The new service uses Overdrive and the WMA copy protected format to allow for digital downloads. The company is looking to capitalize on the increasing popular of digital download of non-music content by owners of digital music players. Podcasting allows digital music player owners to download audio content and radio broadcasts via the Internet.
