Jeda Networks Debuts Product
Newport Beach-based software defined networking (SDN) technology developer Jeda Networks has announced its first product, the Fabric Network Controller (FNC). Jeda, which is led by storage veteran Stuart Berman, said its product is a software-only product which creates a high-performance, storage network over high speed Ethernet. Jeda says its software installs as a virtual appliance for VMware ESX, and uses Ethernet switching and FcoE servers and storage arrays to define a storage network in software. Jeda said its product sill start shipping to early customers in May, with general availability in summer. Jeda is backed by U.S. Venture Partners and Miramar Venture Partners. Berman is the former CTO of Emulex.
