Inphi Ties Into AMD
Westlake Village-based Inphi, a developer of high speed semiconductors, said that it is collaborating with AMD on development of the firm's DDR3 memory components. Inphi said that AMD and system OEMs are working with the company to define its IN16KXMX Socket G3 Memory Extender family, a low power DDR3 memory interface designed for use with AMD's next generation processors. The new component will be used with AMD's server and workstation efforts starting in 2009; the components will be used to connect high speed memory to AMD's CPUs.
