Independa Links With Wireless Health Monitoring Firm
San Diego-based Independa, the remote healthcare monitoring service aimed at helping the elderly live independently longer, is continuing to expand out its partnerships with equipment makers, saying today that it has linked with IDEAL LIFE, a developer of wireless health monitoring products. Independa, which is headed by Kian Saneii, said that it will integrate IDEAL Life's wireless scales, glucometers, pulse oximeters, blood pressure cuffs, medication dispensers and a wireless hub into its solution. Independa's service helps link the wide range of hardware and other services for the elderly into a central service, which helps caregivers and caregiving organizations better monitor the independent elderly. Independa is venture backed by Miramar Venture Partners and City Hill Ventures; the firm was spurred by Saneii's own experience and frustrations looking to take care of his own mother.
