iDrive Ties Wireless Storage Device Into The Cloud
Los Angeles-based cloud storage and backup service iDrive has rolled out a new product, which combines the convenience of a local, Wi-Fi storage device with the company's cloud storage and backup service. iDrive said its new wireless hard drive, the IDrive Wi-Fi, provides up to 2TB of data storage directly linked to the company's cloud. iDrive said the new device makes it much easier to back up and restore data from the cloud, over a speedy Wi-Fi connection, rather than what can be much slower broadband connections. IDrive said the new wireless device is fully compatible with all iOS and Android smartphones, tablets, and both PC and Mac computers, with the 1TB version of the drive costing $99.99 with one year of cloud backup, and $149.99 for the 2TB version.
