Holiday Shopping Plans, Factual Style
For most of us, our holiday shopping plans are mostly governed by the malls and stores we normally visit, or by the recommendations of friends and family. However, if you're a Data Scientist working over a Los Angeles-based Factual, you might approach your holiday shopping plans slightly differently. The data startup--which is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Founder Collective, Index Ventures, Miramar Venture Partners, and others--just posted a data scientists's view of holiday shopping, using the company's vast trove of location-based data to pinpoint where to go shopping for certain items in Los Angeles, by crunching the numbers. Factual published its map of where to shop for all the stores in Los Angeles, within walking distance of each other, based on an analysis of location of stores featuring different categories of items (toys, electronics, jewelry).
