Helio Rolls New Slider, GPS Services
Los Angeles-based MVNO Helio said Wednesday that it has released a new, "slider" cell phone for the firm's cell phone services. Helio said that its new Mysto provides a 2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, a 2.2 inch display, and 100MB of memory, along with audio and video playback. In addition to the new device, the firm has launched two new GPS-based search services, WHERE and TellME. Helio is tapping uLocate for the WHERE application; it provides local weather and events based on a user's current location. Tellme is Microsoft's voice enabled, local search service. Both are available for free to Helio users. Samsung is manufacturing Helio's new Mysto device, which is based on Samsung's U600 cell phone.
