Santa Barbara-based Green Hills Software said that its Integrity embedded operating system has been selected for use in the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, for use in several flight-critical systems on the aircraft. Green Hills said that its operating system software will be used for flight control, surveillance system, and engine monitoring systems from Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, and Vibro-Meter. The various companies are designing components that use the Green Hills operating system as the basis for the avionics systems. Green Hills Software provides operating systems used by manufacturers of embedded controls and software. The company's OS supports FAA flight critical avionics systems standards.
