GoBank's Secret SXSW Weapon: Puppies
It's SXSW season--the time of year when startups and other high tech companies head to Austin, Texas to launch their companies, hobnob with the digerati, and try to get seen. However, SXSW is a notoriously brutal place to launch a product or company--there are literally hundreds of companies doing the same thing, and trying to launch at SXSW can sometimes backfire. One local, Pasadena company, Green Dot, however, looks to have a secret weapon in its launch plans there: puppies. Green Dot is planning to show off its GoBank mobile banking service, but with a twist: it's planning a puppy adoption event it is billing #PuppyHour, where attendees will get to spend time with puppies, and even get a chance to adopt the puppies who are there at the event. Green Dot is partnering with non-profit animal adoption service Austin Pets Alive! for the effort.
