FreedomPop Expands Free Wireless Broadband On Sprint LTE
FreedomPop, the provider of free, high speed wireless Internet, is in a major expansion today, saying it has tied with Sprint to include nationwide, LTE wireless Internet to its customers. According to FreedomPop, the expansion gives it users access to high speed LTE across the US. As part of the expansion, FreedomPop has launched a new, LTE mobile hotspot. Los Angeles-based FreedomPop offers up free access to high speed, wireless Internet. FreedomPop said the move will give FreedomPop customers 500 MBs a month access to Sprint's 4G LTE network, along with backup access on 3G. FreedomPop is backed by Mangrove Capital, DCM and Skype Founder Niklas Zennstom, via his Atomico venture fund. FreedomPop previously was providing access only through Clearwire's more limited WiMax network.
