Foxconn, With Operations In LA, Shuts Factories In Shenzhen
Electronic manufacturing giant Foxconn--which has a major operation in Los Angeles, in the form of Belkin--has shut down its manufacturing operations in Shenzhen, China, as a new COVID-19 outbreak has occurred in China. It's unclear how that shutdown will impact shipment of products at Belkin. Shenzhen is considered the "Silicon Valley" of China. China has been tightening restrictions, as Omicron has spread in the country, which mostly avoided prior COVID outbreaks due to a highly restrictive "zero COVID" approach. Foxconn acquired Belkin in 2018.
