Flume Launches Enterprise Water Data Unit

San Luis Obispo-based Flume, which develops household water use monitoring products, says it has launched a new business unit called Flume Data Labs, which will provide real-time water usage to water providers, brands, insurers, and state and regional planning agencies in the United States. The company said it has a nationwide network of sensors which record residential water use at 5 second intervals, down to individual fixtures or appliances. The company says its sensors use signal processing with machine learning, to disaggregate residential water use into end use components, such as toilets, showers, faucets, clothes washers, dishwashers, and more.
