Faraday Future Still In The Race, Plans Pikes Peak Run
Los Angeles-based electric vehicle manufacturer Faraday Future announced on Monday that it is planning to run its FF 91 vehicle at the upcoming Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, as it looks to provide transparency to its testing progress. Faraday Future said it will chronicle the detailed testing efforts of its engineers in a new video series, as part of the effort, which looks to be an effort to counter a wave of negative press on the aspiring electric vehicle firm. Faraday Future's primary backer, Jia Yueting, is the founder of Le Eco, which has been facing major cash crunch issues, and Faraday Future is knee deep in lawsuits over unpaid bills and contract disputes. Faraday Future said it will be running the FF 91 Beta development vehicle, using production-representative hardware and software with tweaks required to run at Pikes Peak. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been running since 1916, and challenges vehicles to a 12.42 mile course with 156 turns at extreme elevations, with a finish line at 14,115 at the summit of Pikes Peak.
