Eyeonics Raises $16.2M
Aliso Viejo-based Eyeonics has raised a new, Series E round of funding. The company said this week that it has raised $16.2M for the development of its intraocular lens. The funding round was led by Versant Ventures, and included participation by existing investors Brentwood Associates, Pequot Private Equity, ABS Ventures, and Entrepreneurs Fund. Eyeonics lens has been approved by the US FDA since 2003, and the company said that ophthalmic surgeons have implanted more than 35,000 of the devices. More information »
