EVgo Deploys Battery Storage Across 14 Fast Charging Stations
Los Angeles-based EVgo, which operates a network of fast charging stations for the electric vehicle market, says it has begun deploying battery storage across its stations. The company said it has completed or is in construction of 14 battery storage systems located at 11 of its fast charging stations, which it says will be the largest deployment of battery storage systems at public fast charging stations in the nation. According to EVgo, the move will help better manage the demand charge rate structures imposed by utilities, which it says inhibit fast charging deployment and EV adoption. EVgo's overall network includes more than 1,100 fast chargers. EVgo did not say how many more of those battery systems it hopes to deploy.
