Eucalyptus Debuts New GUI, Features
Santa Barbara-based Eucalyptus, the cloud management software developer headed by Marten Mickos, released a new version of its software Monday, saying that it has added a number of new features including a new graphical user interface. Eucalpytus said its new 3.2 software adds simplified cloud administration, reporting, better features for managing storage, and more. Among the most prominent updates was the addition of software which allows raw block devices and "just a bunch of disk" (JBOD) storage to support AWS Elastic BLock Store (EBS) APIs and features, as well as expanded storage-area-network support for EMC VNX Series SANs.
