ESET Fixes Android Vulnerability
San Diego-based security software provider ESET said today that it has released a new, free app to fix a vulnerability of Android devices. ESET said its new app, ESET USSD Control, removes and prevents a flaw in certain Android-based smartphones, which could potentially wipe all of a user's data. ESET said the flaw is present in certain devices running Android 4.1.x or lower, and makes it possible for criminals to take over a device using a text message or QR code. ESET said the app is available on Google Play.
