Entangled Media Raises $3.5M For Younity
Santa Monica-based Entangled Media Corp., which is behind the younity personal cloud service, announced this morning that it has raised $3.545M in a seed funding round. The funding came from Crosslink Capital, Draper Associates, PROfounders Capital, Lowercase Capital, Michael Birch, Tekton Ventures and Knight & Bishop, along with Kamran Pourzanjani, Brian Lee, Brad Jones, and other local angels.
Younity, which is headed by Erik Caso, develops a personal cloud service which lets users store their personal files and media libraies, including iTunes accounts, photos, videos, playlists, and more. The firm's software unifies all of a user's documents, music, photos, and videos across their various devices, as if those devices were a single device. The firm uses those devices themselves to store that data, rather than cloud-based storage.
