Elon Musk's Boring Company Gains Recommendation For Las Vegas Loop

Los Angeles-based Boring Company, the Elon Musk startup which is developing underground transportation systems, gain the endorsement of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), for a possilble two-mile loop around the Las Vegas Convention Center. According to the LVCVA, it announced a recommendation to select The Boring Company to design, construct, and operate a "people mover" for the Las Vegas Convention Center, which would carry passengers between downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Las Vegas Boulevard Resort Corridor, McCarran International Airport and beyond, all though a network of underground "express-route" tunnels. The recommendation still requires approval of the LVCVA's board. The LVCVA says the estimated financial impact of the potential project is $35 to $55M. The new system would cover 200 acres of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The LVCVA said that conventioneers in the new facility will log approximately two miles of walking to go end-to-end on the property, which is why the property needs it own "on-property guest transportation solution."
