eHarmony.com Expands Personal Matchmaking Service

Santa Monica-based eHarmony.com is expanding its personal matchmaking service, eH+, the company announced Monday, after a month long beta test of a new combination of eHarmony's online, dating service and personal advice and matchmaking services from actual matchmakers. eHarmony said it will further roll out access to the service--first launched in November--from just a few people to "hundreds" of customers over the course of the year. The premium service--which starts at $5,000 a year--couples the personal guidance and advice of a counselor with the algorithms and systems eHarmony has built for the mass market. As part of the expansion, eHarmony said that its service will be featured in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the upcoming film featuring Ben Stiller based on the short story of the same name. The movie version apparently has written eHarmony into the script, with the main character featured as an eHarmony user.
